Which bed rail set do I need? Essential vs Enhanced vs Ultimate

All our DreamGuard V2 sets use the same rails. The difference is what comes with them and how securely everything sits once installed.

Essential Set

The 3-sided rail set on its own. This is our base model.

  • 3 x bed rails
  • No accessories included
  • Requires screw installation into your bed base

Best for: a straightforward setup where you're happy to screw the rails in place.

Enhanced Safety Set

The same 3-sided rail set, plus three accessories that make a real difference:

  • Foot Plates — sit under your mattress and anchor the rails so they stay firmly in place. Particularly important on slatted bases.
  • Gap Guard Foams — fill the gap between the rail and the mattress, so there's nowhere for a little one to get wedged.
  • Top Head Bar — covers the top head section and reinforces the rail, preventing it from bulging outward under pressure.

Best for: heavier mattresses, slatted bases, thick headboards, or an active sleeper.

Ultimate Safety Set

Our highest level of protection — a full 4-sided enclosure.

  • 4 x bed rails forming a complete enclosure
  • Foot Plates
  • Gap Guard Foams
  • Y-Band Ropes (connect the base to the bed)

Weight is distributed across four rails rather than three, which keeps everything balanced even when your child pushes against one end.

Quick comparison

Essential Enhanced Ultimate
Rails 3 3 4 (enclosure)
Foot Plates Yes Yes
Gap Guard Foams Yes Yes
Top Head Bar Yes
Y-Band Ropes Yes
Screw installation Required

Worth knowing: if you choose the Ultimate Safety Set, you won't need a Top Head Bar. The fourth rail covers the head end of the bed, doing the same job as part of the full enclosure.
